RESEARCH 

 

Presently, my work primarily explores place based and transformative education strategies which foster environmental stewardship and empower high school students. Incorporating traditional ecological knowledge in interdisciplinary biology work increases access points which engage youth in this work and more accurately reflects the environmental and cultural history of the places we explore. Prior to teaching, my work explored the intersection of human impacts and cultural heritage with the natural environment in the central Pacific.  Research is listed chronologically, with most recent work first.
